Emily Di Donato, the muse of Calzedonia Fall / Winter 15-16 collection, answers about her style, fitness, social media and her cooperation with the Italian fashion brand.

What do you enjoy about working with the Calzedonia team?

I love working with Calzedonia because we usually work with the same team which is always awesome. It feels like family and it’s nice to work with people you have known for a while. It’s always fun shooting with the whole team and everyone always has fun with it.

What are your favourite items in the collectionthis season?

I love the opaque and lace leggings/tights. I think that is always sexy and classic.

How will you be styling your favourite item?

Lace tights with a little black dress. Sexy and classic!

Do you prefer single colored tights or patterned/colored tights?

I think it depends on the mood. Solid colored tights can be simple and classic but if you are in a more fun/playful mood I think print ones can be really cute!

You are very active on Instagram and other social media platforms, how do you feel about being an social media celebrity and style icon?

I think social media is a fun and powerful tool. You can share as much as you want and you can really get a sense of someone’s  personality. I like posting and reaching out to followers and hopefully being a healthy role model for young girls.

Your legs always look amazing in the Calzedonia images, what are your secrets to staying in shape?

Thank you! I love to workout. I run, spin and lift weights. I always change up my workout and have fun with it. I just love being active and sports.

What advice would you give someone starting out as a model?

My advice would be to stay close to your family and stay true to yourself. It’s easy to get molded into something you are not. Just -always be striving to be your best self.

What would you want to be if you weren’t a model?

I would want to work in fitness. I would want to study nutrition and become a yoga or fitness instructor.

What do you love most about your job?

I love meeting new people and also working with people I have known for years now. The travel experience is great too.

A place you would like to visit?

I would love to explore more of Italy! I’ve only been to Milan so I would like to see more.

Favourite place to live?

I don’t think I will ever live anywhere but New York. I grew up on the countryside which will always be my home. I love NY so I would it is my favorite place to live.

What do you wear to feel sexy?

I love wearing dresses and also sexy lingerie. That always makes me feel sexy.

What do you think about the connection of social media and fashion? Is this important for you as well?

Social media has become important for models because it is a way to reach a lot more people than before. I think it is important to be active on it. It’s also nice to give and show some personality and life behind what you do when you are not modeling. I think it has given models a lot more power and I think it that’s awesome.
