Tezenis for an ever more plastic-free present and future.

The Calzedonia group brand has decided to start a valuable collaboration – “Together for the Mediterranean Sea”, – a special joint venture with Marevivo, an association that has been involved in protecting the sea and the environment since 1985. And it does it in the way that most suits it: creating a beachwear collection that is increasingly more green-conscious and supporting the elimination of plastic waste thrown into the sea.

Real, practical help to collect as much plastic as the weight of 1 million plastic bottles and clean up around 240,000,000 sqm of sea; but how? A plastic bottle will be recovered for each bikini that is purchased.

The project includes 120 sea trips of the “Pelikan” Garbage Group’s eco-boats, which have been assigned the collection of 10 tons of plastic waste. In the second phase, the recovered material will be used for producing combustion-free clean energy, therefore free from harmful emissions, thanks to the use of advanced plasma technology developed by IRIS, a company specialized in the development of innovative technologies for the circular economy in small-scale industrial and civil entities. A project managed thanks to the collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Marche and the participation in the innovative Green Plasma project that allows to produce energy from products that are not otherwise recyclable.

Tezenis therefore continues its journey towards a greener vision, which has already begun with the BE THE CHANGE line, delivering basic underwear made with recycled lace. Bras and briefs created by giving new life to regenerated nylon fibers through the recovery of waste materials from the textile sector destined for disposal. Because even small gestures can help to change the world.
